I wanted to make sure this day was documented because I am not happy. There is no other way for me to get passed it. Other than the first day I have not completed one day in Utah, and this is the first rack that occurred that was not due to a problem on my bike.

One of my problems is that I do not speak too much on certain situations when others have an input on something. I usually keep my mouth shut and let things happen even when it does not benefit me. I did not speak hard enough to continue to cycle when my crew racked me. Once it happened, I was in tears because I did not want to be racked, not like this.

As I am writing this, I am experiencing the ride from a different perspective. Seeing my team ride up a mountain pass is a painful feeling because I want to be out there. I am just very frustrated that I could not overcome this pain and get racked. The morning circle up, the people who have supported, people who I am dedicating my summer to, those who are in serious pain every single day, I feel that I let them down. This really sucks. I will be thinking about this day for a very long time. I don???t care, but I am riding tomorrow. The only way I???m going to get racked is if I cannot move my legs due to the pain or if I get racked due to time.

What happened in today???s ride:

I rode with a fast group today and I did my best to keep up with them for about 13 miles. The morning in Utah was cold and I did my best to not let it affect me. There were some long climbs that were going uphill and It did enough to warm me up. As we hit the top and descended, the drop was pretty tame and I was fairly close to my pace line.

We then got red flagged for about 20 minutes because another rider had a flat tire and needed to get rim tape installed to fix this problem. One of the members of my pace line assisted him on the installation. As we continued riding my I began to fall back from my pace line. I want to attribute that to mashing instead of spinning which expends more energy.

As I tried to catch up and make the pace line tighter my right knee had something tightening up on the tendon. I felt pain when I kept spinning. I had to stop to stretch. After stretching I was put up front to control the pace. The knee still hurt and the back still had some problems. I managed to make the van and I told the crew bout the leg. After trying to stretch I got racked. Looking at it now it still was a bad feeling.

Being in the van I saw the rest if the terrain and bit looked easy. The road was practically downhill. That was sure upsetting.

Tomorrow we enter another state and go to Dinosaur.
